About Prairie Land Lutheran ParishPrairie Land Lutheran Parish (PLLP) was officially formed in 2005 by Lake Hanska Lutheran Church, La Salle Lutheran Church, Linden Lutheran Church, and Zion Lutheran Church with the goal of working together for the sake of spreading the good news in the Hanska/La Salle area.  In 2007 PLLP called Pastors Aaron and Mary Suomala Folkerds to be its first pastors.  PLLP works to nourish people's faith, serve our neighbors both nearby and around the world, and to share the Good News in our families and with our communities.

We remain three separate congregations and one joint area parish.  Each congregation has its own history, personality, and leadership, but we also work together to share resources and ministries.  Most weeks we worship in all three congregations, but we also meet regularly for joint worship services.  We are Prairie Land Lutheran Parish and we are Lake Hanska, La Salle, and Zion Lutheran Churches.  Above all, in the end, we are children of God!

Worship Schedule

On most weekends, each congregation has one worship service.  The times are Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  We rotate times on a monthly basis.  You can use this website and our facebook page to help you to keep track!

For special events, we sometimes have just one worship service at one of our three locations. Those dates and times are always announced in advance.  They are special opportunities for us to gather as a larger group to worship God and celebrate the unique ministries of our three congregations.

Parish Faith Formation

We offer joint women's and men's Bible studies each month (see our latest calendar for dates, times, and locations).  Each congregation also has its own Women of the ELCA group meetings.

For the 2013-2014 academic year, Zion and Lake Hanska are working together on Sunday/Wednesday school for our elementary-aged children, and La Salle has its own Sunday School class.  Confirmation instruction for 8th and 9th graders is held jointly at the parish office, and VBS/day camp in the summer is also a joint project.

Children of all ages are welcome at every worship service at any of our congregations.
